Head Instructor of Dual Edge Training and Development

 

My name is Mason, I am the head instructor of Dual Edge Training and Development. Hockey has been a major part of my life, and through years of playing at multiple levels with the Brantford 99ers and the Brant Battalion for the past 7 seasons, I’ve developed a  understanding of what it takes to develop in today’s game. I am offering these lessons as a way to quickly develop important skills that will directly impact your in game play.

At Dual Edge, I bring both playing experience and hands-on coaching knowledge to help young hockey players to improve every aspect of their performance. I have worked with players and young skaters with basic skating, edge work, skill development, confidence building, game awareness and position specific drills and tips.

Dual Edge Training and Development is built on helping young skaters reach the goals they are aspiring to achieve, and maintain steady growth and confidence on the ice.

 

About our Goalie instrucor- Drayden


My name is Drayden, and my approach to goaltending focuses on three things: precision, preparation, and composure. As a AA hockey player, I understand how small details can decide a game. As a coach, I help goalies go beyond just blocking shots—I teach them how to read the play and stay one step ahead.


I’ve played in high-level tournaments that shaped how I coach today:

  • Wayne Gretzky International Tournament: Competing at this level taught me the importance of strong positioning and staying focused under pressure.

  • Calgary Northstars Challenge: Playing against top teams in Western Canada helped me develop skills for fast-paced and physical games.

  • Championship Experience: From winning a U13 Regional Title to playing U16 AA, I understand what it takes to perform consistently and support a team through a full season.


I train goalies to be both technically strong and athletic:

  • Positioning & Technique: Proper use of RVH, VH, and post play to prevent easy goals.

  • Efficient Movement: Staying controlled and avoiding unnecessary motion.

  • Mental Strength: Building confidence and learning to quickly reset after mistakes.


I aim to develop calm, confident goalies who can perform under pressure. Whether you’re trying to move up to AA/AAA or improve your current skills, I provide the guidance to help you succeed.
